I got it from my momma

 I realized I was turning into my mother...
-When I started to cringe seeing other people fold towels.

-When teaching them the right way to do it just yields unfavorable results.

-When I want to say "here just let me do it"

-When I think I can do it better and faster.

-When I can see dirt no one else can.

-When there is a difference between kid clean, and my clean

-When clutter is clutter. Less is more and if you don't need it throw it away.

-When I realized why it's important to sort your clothes to wash them and the water temperature matters.

-When I can kiss little peoples boo-boos and make them all better

-When I can find the irony in every situation

-When I realized I'm awesome
{maybe that's just my mom}

I'm not ashamed to be like her AT ALL. There are just those things that you see your mom doing as a kid that totally don't make sense to you at all and you run along and go play with your barbies and play-doh.  Then one day you're twenty something and turns out you have adopted that habit. I love my mom very, very much and am so lucky to have such a strong loving woman in my life, but she does some weird crap. amiright? And apparently now I do to.

What do you do that makes you realize you are turning into your mommy?

  1. Great post! And so true! Hah! When I was a kid, anytime I asked where something was, my mom would reply with "I ate it." I'd be like, "mom! Where's the TV remote?!" and she'd be like, "I ate it!" And in my head I'm thinking, "seriously, mother, you did not eat the tv remote, where is it?!" And now I totally use the same answer!! And I laugh inside every time!

  2. I can't think of anything right now, but I'm watching my mom turn into my grandmother and when I point it out to her she gets all defensive. So I'm just waiting for that to happen to me. Joy. At least I don't have any kids to point it out to me, but I'm sure someone will.

  3. Well . . . I can talk incessantly, just like my mom did. And, I finally got over being shy when I was in my mid-20s, and started being super-friendly instead. :) I'm really more like my dad, though!
