Let's start this year off right with a post about kindness :)
If you have read my blog for a little while you know that my baby brother had an unfortunate accident on Halloween.
If you're new here are the cliff notes.
He was struck by a truck while crossing the street and rushed to the hospital.
He is doing GREAT. He is up and walking and will be off his crutches and back to school with the start of the new year thanks to many prayers, positive thinking and fantastic nurses, doctors and physical therapists.
While all is good with the little man now the last few months have been slightly trying. His bed was in the middle of our living room, my mom had to take time off work, insurance company drama blah blah blah, the list goes on and on.
The week he was in the hospital was especially rough. He was on lots of medication that made him grumpy and he was cooped up in a hospital bed and in a lot of pain.
While he was there a phone call was made to the nurses at the hospital in regards to Luke. It was from one of the firefighters that responded to the call that night. He wanted to check on him and make sure that he made it and that things looked good for him.
It meant so much to my family that he reached out when he receives so many calls in his line of work.

This prompted this Random Act Of Kindness.
I made 16 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and put some bags of Cheetos and water bottles in a basket {that I got for $2 on clearance at Michaels!} and took it to the fire station up the street from my house.
I am so thankful to those first responders for choosing the profession they have.

What a lovely idea for the fire crew - I am sure they appreciated it! I am glad to hear your little brother is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! :)
